This series of "Barns and Silos" is like the churches and water towers, and bridges of other series that I have done. It is design oriented. I refer to my method as breaking up of the subject matter, and picture plane.

When working on the watercolor and multi media paintings of this series I was interested in the geometric shapes of barns and silos.

I’m concerned with recording the old barns of my mid-west life, which are disappearing. I have greatly enjoyed doing this work.

In this series I am attempting to record the many different styles that I noticed as my husband and I have traveled this area to collect photographs.
