Performances take place three to four times per year and generally showcase four or fivechoreographers in a given performance. Diane Aldis and Gerry Girouard bring a trio of dancers to traipse through the footprints, opportunities and negotiations of tango. Dissolving moments and enduring connections - and maybe a few ghosts - simmer under the cadence of joined steps. Diane Aldis danced with modern dance companies in Europe and the US including stints with the original Ozone Dance Company and New Dance Ensemble in Minneapolis where she inadvertently unpacked her bags and grumpy cat some 30 years ago to end up living here. Shecoordinates statewide professional development programs in dance, arts integration, and distance learning initiatives at the Perpich Center for Arts Education, and also teaches dance pedagogy in the University of Minnesota Dance Program and in the distance learning teacher preparation program at Bemidji State University. Recent work includes “Sleepers” at Red Eye Theater in June 2010 and the dance film “Spin” with Christopher Watson Dance Company.

Cade Holmseth’s "Just One More" is a culmination of a number of things in life, all having to do with paper of the green colored persuasion. In these economic times, people seem extra focused on their coin purses, but this piece reflects on a mentality that is, at times, more abundant when cash flow is high, and connects that blindness to our current awareness. Money isn't so much an object to be had, but a mindset that is shared, like a disease; a pandemic if you will. This piece is part humor, part tragedy, part theater, part dance, all heart from a cast of performers who have much to collaborate and say in the creation in this new work.


Smiling Lune, this is not your mama's bellydance. Led by director Kalila Indivar, Smiling Lune presents theatrical fusion bellydance. Smiling Lune blends the isolations of Middle Eastern dance with a variety of influences to produce a performance that is uniquely theirs. Whether their dances are taking a humorous look at modern culture, celebrating the joy of life and dance, or pondering the human condition, they are sure to captivate audiences. Smiling Lune will be presenting pieces that are a part of a larger work in progress entitled Dancing with Death.

Jennifer Mack brings almost everything including the kitchen sink, to the Kinetic Kitchen stage! Much like her background. Hopefully blue rain ponchos will make-up for the missing sink! Fifteen highly skilled dance artists from backgrounds ranging from Classical ballet, Contact Improv, to Ballroom and Martial Arts training will be brought together under one roof and one choreographer for two nights. They will pummel and then sooth the Patrick’s stage in three separate pieces inspired by the extremes we experience in life & nature, but more our minds; especially when life throws you a punch or a never ending winter. Come kick and run out those last remains of snow from your shoes with us to Placebo or relax, take a deep breath, focus and yet get lost with us and Dvorak while knowing that everything will be all right. We swear! Really, spring is on the way. Just ask The Tallest Man On Earth! Because if it's not... we will be 'leaving in the fall' before the next one! Okay, maybe just Jen.
