Statement

While minimalist music inspired this suncatcher, it resembles a patchwork quilt. This piece was made using the copper foil method, but instead of soldering one tile directly to another, they are separated with the use of copper foiled washers.
General statement on stained glass:
Stained glass is a kinetic art form. Sunlight streams through the glass to energize the colors and fill them with life. I like to view stained glass as a metaphor of photosynthesis. It displays the sun's energy that brings sustenance to our being. While not all of my pieces make a direct connection to this idea, this is what draws me to stained glass.
