This poetry was written to two sisters in Scandinavia cousins of my mother. I later named it Beautiful Minnesota, selections:
_______________________
When butterflies do storm in air
Like Autumn leaves pour down
In gold and red
Then kiss me with your flaming leaves
And we will blossom like Autumn.
_______________________
Love blushes her cheeks
She sings in the dancing leaves
Golden leaves fall where she walks
And she speaks rainbows to me.
_______________________
She kissed me with a rainbow
And I gave her my love storm
We love in Autumn wonder
And we kiss the winter white.
_______________________
Her mountain lips speak sunshine love
While I adore her
Her kisses feel
Like the sunny violence of a rose.
_______________________
Violets smile in her eyes
Roses blush in her cheeks
Her lips touch mine in the night
And my heart beats in dance to a waltz.
_______________________
Softly o'er the soaring sea
She's blowing violets at me
Where rush the sky
From out her eye
In bed among the morning leaves.
_______________________
Her kisses are blossoms of honey
To me who dwells
On thunder curling rocks
Where mountains speak in silence.
_______________________
Her smiling face
Does bring the morning lakes in flame
She sings pink love in lilac time
And roses bloom in her footsteps.
_______________________
Loud where spill the Autumn leaves
Striking scarlet on the rocks
Where my love in yellow locks
Eager seeks to sing to me
_______________________
To paint crisp love on summer's leaves
Is all I know of Autumn
Now comes she scorching blizzard bare
Pink upon a ghost in winter.
_______________________
She kissed me with a rainbow
And I gave her my love storm
We love in Autumn wonder
And we kiss the winter white.
_______________________
Violets smile in her eye
Roses blush in her cheeks
Her lips touch mine in the night
And my heart beats in dance to a waltz.
_______________________
Country sunshine lights her eye
She sings on barefoot pathways
The roses bloom on her long, blonde hair
We love in the morning bloom.
_______________________
When butterflies do storm in air
Like Autumn leaves pour down
In gold and red
Then kiss me with your flaming leaves
And we will blossom like Autumn.
_______________________
Her mountain lips speak sunshine love
While I adore her
Her kisses feel
Like the sunny violence of a rose.
