The intent was to create a fire vortex. Oxygen-rich air rushed through the bottom of a metal cylinder atop a steel clothing rack. Flame fuel within the cylinder (in this case pinetree branches, wood chips, and sawdust) was spun manually, causing the path of air into the fuel to twist and, I hoped, produce a vortex of flame.

Though the piece produced much fire, there was no vortex. Please contact me if you have any thoughts.
