In preparing to celebrate the new year/millennium, the lampshade worn on the head interested me as an icon of drunken abandon. "Crackerbomb" fountains were wired to the rim of a large lampshade, which spun freely on a plastic cone attached to my head. The fountains spun the lampshade in circles, showering sparks and small explosions over my head and shoulders. Flame retardant outerwear and goggles were used.
