Program info:

Performed by NOAH BREMER and GALEN TREUER to live accordian music by Dan Turpening, "Big and Little" is a simple story of two simple clowns. It was created as a part of Red Eye Collaborations' Works In Progress and was directed by Sara Richardson, a graduate of Ecole Jacque Le Coq in Paris.

MAGGIE BERGERON'S piece “It is Morning” deals with a chain of events one is enmeshed within. But one cannot remember the events. They carry one inside of them like a train due at the next stop in the morning. The dance deals with feelings of claustrophobia, clinging on to whatever is there to maintain some semblance of sanity. It also addresses a sort of inner battle…..will one cross the edge to the space of insanity, or will one fight the urge, even if it means destroying one’s understanding of the world in the process?

Bergeron's “A is for Amy” plays with the vulgarity and violence of children’s nursery rhymes. It is a whimsical dance that only lends itself to violence occasionally, when absolutely necessary. It also addresses the depth of unquestioning understanding found in children and questions the answers of maturity.

KELSEY LUMPKIN returns to the Twin Cities after completing her Bachelors of Fine Arts at SUNY-Brockport to premiere two works in the November Kinetic Kitchen. “Disintegration” is a group work exploring the cyclic relationship of order and chaos. This piece will include live music performed by Gary Lumpkin. Kelsey will also present “Into the Under” a solo work that reflects on her mood as she imparts on her post-college life in the dance world.

CHRISTOPHER BAKER is currently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts with a concentration in Time & Interactivity at the University of Minnesota. With graduate and undergraduate degrees in engineering, Christopher's work seeks to develop new modes of interaction between society, the arts, and emerging technology. Christopher has recently presented work at the Spark Festival of Electronic Music, the Best Feet Forward Festival at the Southern Theatre, the Weisman Art Museum and the 2005 Minneapolis Fringe Festival. http://www.base8.org
