Statement

This is a series of photogravure prints I've been working on since 2000

"Urinal":
photogravure 2005 2x2" Image is from the Salamander tour in the place called the Charleston a bar,in Brooklyn. Between 4 bands, we made 8 dollars after the hat was passed around to the patrons, there were about 10 people there, tops. We gave it to Overhang Party, who came from Japan, Also Playing with us that evening was Primordial Undermind, from Seattle, and Tono Bungay, from New York City, those guys were good. The next night we played on the radio. These are the urinals, which were quite beautiful and old. There were depressions in the floor from the decades of male bar patrons standing there. The owner of the bar put on a grazy light show.

Gentle Ride,:
Todd McCutcheon and I rode to NYC for Savannah College of Art and Design, we were "exhibition designers" no irony. our Gentle Ride Uhaul broke down. on the way and this is the pic.

Shoveling:
Shoveling my parents driveway with the heavy duty steel snow shovel

Mullein:
Mullein is a local plant, don't know if its native but it certainly has acclimated. It has soft fuffy/furry leaves and shoots out a tall phallic flower, not showy, the stalks when dead and dry make a good fake club for a kid but the fuzzy stuff on the stalk turns crumbly like old foam.

Dead Carp:
I found this pile of dead Carp along the Mississippi, The catch them and throw them on a burning fire, probably after beating them.

Apokalypsis Arm:
This one was from an accidental photograph I took, but it bore a striking resemblance to a painting I had done years earlier.
It was from a series of paintings in acrylic, done on paper. It was called the Apokalypsis series, from the greek word apokalysis, which means revelation. From David Nye Browns classes at The Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He was a strong influence on me.

Over The Place of the Happy Fish:
canal by SCAD Alexander Hall grad painting studios.
That incredibly massive bridge which goes over the Savannah River. Boats the size of skyscrapers pass through, they can only turn around at sea. The canal 15 feet away had two beautiful young alligators in it.
