A bit more recent, this work is a vague abstraction of the image of a butterfly. However it is not meant as a literal or even a gestural depiction of the butterfly itself, but a mask that shares elements of the insect's design: All shapes and lines are concentrically arranged around the vertical center, focused inward; and the overall form is roughly divided into four overlapping quadrants. Personally, my only complaint is that compared to my earlier work, the designs I do today seem infinitely more relaxed and perhaps a little too structured.
