What happens when two actors quest to make the perfect show? They adopt bad British accents and begin a journey across genres, consulting various sages, fighting battles, performing musical numbers and employing distracting video techniques all in a desperate attempt to avoid the pitfalls and torments of the self.
Hello? Is anyone there?
With the help of comic genius Joe Evans, theater coach Ben Kreilkamp and choreographer Lelis Brito, Bedlam company members Sarah Garner and Maren Ward are teaming up again to create a switched up archetypical action adventure epic. Maren and Sarah have collaborated in the past to create the cabaret circuit cult classic “Situated Witch” and have performed together as the “Mad Woman’s Auxiliary”. In March 2004, Bedlam Theatre presented “Unhinged” – the duo’s feminist meditation on the old horror classics and the new horror reality.
The performance will involve presentation of material gathered during a 6 week workshop and audience feedback will be solicited. Dog’s Bollocks is presented with the support of an Artist’s Inititative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board with funds appropriated by the Minnesota State Legistlature. A selection from “Dog’s Bollocks” will be presented at the Radio mnartists: Live at the McGuire cabaret at the Walker Arts Center on March 16th, 2006.
