The two boys have similar names (Golden and Silvers) so I nicknamed them the Precious Metal Brothers which became the title of the painting. I was trying to depict their friendship that didn't require conversation.

I think the simple composition and semi-abstract depiction of the figures let's the viewer become involved to "finish the story".
